Change Healthcare and Amazon join forces to deliver healthcare data research to vulnerable patient populations

Change Healthcare and Amazon Web Services announced on March 9 that they launch a new data science as a service offering that provides anonymized claims data integrated with the social determinants of health for more robust data analysis and research on vulnerable patient populations.

Nashville, TN-based data analytics company will use AWS’s cloud platform to pre-integrate patient data and deploy automated software that continuously monitors organizations’ privacy and compliance obligations health. Duke University School of Medicine is using the data offer to analyze differences in the progression of COVID-19 disease based on pre-existing conditions and interventions for different ethnic and socio-economic groups.

With the new offering, Change Healthcare and AWS aim to better examine and improve the effectiveness of health treatments and therapies, especially for underserved and vulnerable populations.
