The Role: We are recruiting a Data Analyst and Security Specialist for an opportunity in Sandton.

Our ideal candidate should be a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and/or a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).

Skills and experience: Degree required:

  • Matric/Grade 12
  • Graduate degree in computer science from a top university
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and/or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).

Preferred technologies:

  • Nessus and Wireshark
  • Power Bi / Qlik / SAS / SQL

Experience required:

At least 1 year?? experience in data analysis:

  • Data analysis (mining, cleaning, transforming and modeling data)
  • Data analysis (raw data analysis and drawing of trends and conclusions)

At least 1 year?? experience in assessing risks and

  • Internal Audit
  • Root cause analysis
  • Walkthroughs of business processes (requires a good understanding of standard business operations).
  • At least 2 years?? IT security experience:
  • Cybersecurity, network vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, configuration management and infrastructure reviews
  • Hands-on experience auditing cybersecurity technologies including firewall, IDS/IPS, DLP, proxies, anti-malware, email security, remote access, security baseline, SIEM, PKI, encryption/tokenization data, database security, RACF security, operating systems, etc.

Other skills required:

  • Work in an agile environment and good team spirit.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.

Main responsibilities: Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Analytics within Group Internal Audit (??GIA?):

  • Perform data analysis and computer-assisted audit techniques (CAAT)
  • Perform data integrity assessments across various data sources
  • Data mapping and validation from various data sources
  • Development of generic and bespoke scripts through different business cycles
  • Support and execute ad-hoc data analysis requests from companies
  • Independently liaise with stakeholders from different business functions
  • Independently liaise with stakeholders from different clients
  • Solving problems using both a logical and analytical approach
  • Understanding of business processes and root cause analysis from a data source perspective
  • Collaborate in diverse teams in an agile way
  • Work with minimal supervision.

Computer security within the Group Internal Audit (??GIA?):

  • Lead and coordinate cybersecurity related reviews covering four audit phases, namely planning, execution, reporting and quality assurance.
  • Implement and manage cybersecurity tools and ensure their effectiveness.
  • Manage all projects to ensure timely delivery on milestones and quality of delivery.
  • Carry out an adequate assessment of the cybersecurity risks on the various platforms of the network.
  • Perform assessments on infrastructure security, network security, application security, information security, cloud security, data security as well as end user security
  • Provide consulting services on cybersecurity strategies and the cybersecurity landscape within the EOH Group.
  • Provide assistance in other IT-related audit projects.
  • Conduct research on cybersecurity trends as well as innovative tools and lead debriefing sessions with GIA and Group IT.
