2 x positions available for a Data Scientist or Epidemiologist to join the AIM study

Two positions are available at the University of Southampton Medical School for data scientists or epidemiologists. These positions are based at Aldermoor Health Center in the Primary Care Research Center and remote working will also be considered. The position is offered at ERE level 4 or ERE level 5 depending on qualifications and experience.

The project examines health and social care disease clusters across multiple long-term conditions in several large national databases. This work program is funded by the NIHR.

Our research uses data-driven artificial intelligence methods alongside traditional statistical approaches. Experience in any of the methodological areas is welcome. The incumbent will be a graduate and should hold a PhD or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field (epidemiology, medical or social statistics, bioinformatics, data science or equivalent). You will have advanced skills in epidemiology and statistics, experience in performing cohort analyzes using STATA or R. Previous experience with health databases (such as CPRD, SAIL or Q-Research) is essential.

The title of data scientist or senior epidemiology fellow will be applied after successful completion of the doctorate. Prior to the award of the qualification, the title of Senior Research Assistant will be awarded

Both positions are offered on a full-time or part-time basis, one year fixed term contract initially with possibility of extension. Part-time or part-time work will be considered.
