People Data Analyst at SA Taxi Development Finance – Gauteng Midrand

Primary objective

Perform various Human Resources Information System (HRIS) administrative functions ensuring data integrity and correct reporting of HC data. To analyze human capital data and convert it into intelligent data that can be used to make business decisions about people. Coordinate and achieve correct, effective and efficient reporting of information required for a variety of internal and external reports. Work independently under general direction. Manage problems and non-routine situations by determining the approach
or actions to be taken and interprets guidelines, procedures, policies and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Confirms the accuracy and integrity of all data entered through frequent diligent verification and partnership to correct
  • Ensures that the relevant person(s) maintains required data in HRIS systems and databases and ensures that the correct information is available in a timely manner. Frequently checks data and requests corrections
  • Performs group data updates/reports, exports, imports, data cleanups and research/reports on any data discrepancies and ensures corrections are activated.
  • Provides daily/weekly/monthly routine operational reports and responds to basic to intermediate and ad-hoc data requests.
  • Applies critical thinking to perform data and needs analysis on HC data such as compensation, employee classification, DoL employment levels, employee relations and/or benefits data, as appropriate instructions.
  • Prepares reports, charts, tables, data visualizations and statistics in support of human capital operations and HC needs.
  • Provides assistance and supports others on complex reporting assignments and/or issues as directed.
  • Coordinates, plans and tracks the progress of specialized work projects as they relate to HC data and reports.
  • Manage HC’s supply chain, assist with vendor prequalification analyses, scoring and verification processes.
  • Assist in improving system developments to elevate HC reporting and activation functionality
  • Ensure that legislative requirements are incorporated into reports to track progress such as skills development expenditures, transformation goals as well as any other requirements as needed by the team
  • Responds verbally or in writing to inquiries, complaints or issues regarding information provided.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of human capital policies and procedures (end-to-end HC value chain).
  • Act as primary contact for data and reporting related functions and ensure necessary delivery and follow-up.
  • Participates in special reporting projects as directed.
  • Provides on-the-job and formal training to human capital data system users using custom software and enterprise applications to ensure effective and efficient data reporting and analysis.
  • Be at the forefront of piloting new system automations while providing guidance on any development that
    are required to keep abreast of reporting and business needs
  • Keep up to date with any changes that will directly impact the system, including but not limited to legislation, BBBEE codes. Should there be any changes, then accountability will require that measures be incorporated into the system.
  • Assist with award analysis and projects.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of human resources/capital information systems (HRIS) extraction and translation.

  • Engage with various stakeholders within the organization to verify information, where known to be incorrect, suggest processes and efficiencies, and follow up on delivery

Skills/experience required

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field is essential
  • Any relevant qualification in data analysis
  • 3-5 years of experience analyzing and reporting on HC/people data
  • The ability to troubleshoot technical issues as well as develop and implement strategies to resolve human capital/resource technology related issues.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing, maintaining and reporting data on Human Capital/Resource Information Management Systems, ATS and HROS.
  • Experience managing technology vendors is a plus.
  • Proven project management experience for large, enterprise-wide projects. Agile could be beneficial.
  • Candidates with industry certifications are preferred.
  • Proven experience in human resources software development, testing and analysis.
  • Experience in analytical skills related to data mining, metric interpretation and theorizing
