Senior Research Data Scientist, School of Computer Science job with UNIVERSITY COLLEGE DUBLIN (UCD)

Applications are invited for a specified purpose position (est. approx. 13 months – initially) of a Senior Research Data Scientist (X2) within the UCD School of Computer Science/CeADAR.

CeADAR is looking for an experienced person with a proven track record in data science in research and industry (> 6 years). Individuals in this position should have a proven track record in researching and applying artificial intelligence, machine learning, computational statistics and statistics to specific problems, particularly in areas such as machine learning depth, graphical models, reinforcement learning, computer perception, natural language processing and data. representation.

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in contributing to the development of proof-of-concepts to enable businesses to leverage the benefits of cutting-edge AI algorithms. We are very passionate about the application of ML algorithms and have produced everything from classic supervised models to state-of-the-art unsupervised clustering algorithms to new applications of transformative neural networks. We test and measure the real customer impact of every model we deploy.

This is an opportunity to work on a number of diverse and exciting data science projects with real-world application to a variety of industrial sector verticals both at national and European level, including the startup ecosystem. The individual will be part of CeADAR’s innovation and development group, participating in projects requiring applied data science skills for the development of machine learning solutions for industry. CeADAR is based at University College Dublin and is government-funded to help businesses adopt AI. CeADAR is also the European digital innovation hub for AI in Ireland and therefore works extensively in Europe. Applied research at CeADAR covers broad aspects of AI and data analytics using advanced machine learning to process structured and unstructured data from many different industries.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in this strategic and nationally important area of ​​AI and analytics where CeADAR is shaping strategy at national and European level.

Wage scale: €66,000 – €80,000 per year

Appointment within the above range will depend on qualifications and experience.
