Funder fears UK is being ‘left behind’ on biomedical data, despite global leadership potential

A review by national R&D funder UK Research and Innovation called for “urgent” action to improve biomedical data science in the country.

The report, published on July 28, says several sectors have been ‘transformed’ by data science and there is a ‘real risk’ that biomedical research in the UK will be ‘left behind’ as more other countries are developing in this area.
