WANdisco completes ‘important’ data migration for ‘major’ customer

Live Data Company WANdisco said on Wednesday it had completed a major data migration to Microsoft’s Azure cloud for “a major customer.”

WANdisco said the migration, done through Microsoft on a consumer basis, demonstrated its continued momentum with LiveData Migrator, which was also integrated into the Azure ecosystem.

The AIM-listed group said its unnamed client, which owns and operates Canada’s largest railroad, plans to engage it to mutually evaluate future use cases for LiveData Migrator.

While WANdisco said the scope of the current opportunity was 70 terabytes of data, it added that there was potential for a “significant amount of additional revenue”, with the ability to move an additional 30 petabytes of data. to the cloud per year.

Managing Director David Richards said: “We are seeing more and more companies looking to take advantage of the advanced analytics capabilities available in the cloud, and WANdisco is the leading vendor to help make this a reality.
